Thant Htet Oo

Thant Htet Oo is originally from Myanmar and currently studies film at the University of New Mexico. He came to the United States on a student visa as his family sought safety from the ongoing civil conflict in Myanmar. Thant is a changemaker within the ecosystem and participated in the Futuro MMXXV cohort at Georgetown University. He joined after serving as Director of Photography on a Mítikah Co. film production documenting the life of mentor Ernesto Nieto. Thant is building his own production company focused on cultural and environmental documentary filmmaking. He has already collaborated with EarthJustice on a documentary project, and his long-term vision is to produce a body of work that reveals the true cultural depth and environmental reality of societies around the world. He is an exceptional filmmaker whose craft and conviction far exceed his years.
